I've owned the Withings Wifi Body Scale for about a month now. I like it, if you're thinking about buying one, I'd recommend it. Having recommended it though, there are some things you should know about it before buying one. It does not have a plug, which means it is going to go through batteries because of the wifi functionality. Communication via wireless is going to use up the small batteries fairly quickly. This problem is solved by purchasing NiMH rechargeables. A little more investment up front will save you some money and help the environment. The other thing to note is that this scale does vary in the body composition measurement depending on how much water you are retaining. I believe this is a limitation of the technology used to measure body fat though.
One last small gripe, it won't work on thick carpet. The small pads that they give you do not provide enough clearance. You'll need a fairly hard surface to place it on for it to work properly.
In short, if you're looking for a nice way to track your weight loss, or to keep track of long term trends to make sure your are maintaining your current weight, this scale is close to perfect. I would definitely purchase one of these again.

I am generally very critical regarding the obvious flaws in most electronics. This device has left me with very little to be critical of. Setup was fairly simple. The device supports up to 8 unique users. Each user can be federated into it's own profile. Profiles can then be linked to additional external data sources (eg: Google Health) enabling automatic statistical updating. Individual users are automatically identified. The device is very sleek looking, it is almost a shame to have to stand on it. I would recommend this device for anyone who is looking to simplify the management of health data including: Weight, Fat, and BMI.

Elegant, simple - reminds me of buying an Apple product. The companion website and iPhone app are great - not gimmicky like I am accustomed too. Setup was painless, perhaps even fun. Highly recommend. I am even more interested in becoming healthy now. I love stats.

Just purchased the Withings wifi body scale. I was impressed with the ease of setup. Nice to see an electronic device where the setup is pretty simple. The Withings web site is pretty good, which is a big help. I use the connection to [...] and the iPhone app. Now, I just get up step on the scale. Next thing I know, my iPhone and trainingpeaks has my weight and %body fat. It works.
