It's a BFP!!! : ) March 5, 2010 Mrs. Joanne Scholes (Buckinghamshire, UK) I have just got to the end of my 2 Week Wait of my 1st IVF cycle and am on official test day and so was keen to know if it was a success. I used a First Response test this morning and got a BFP (big fat positive) within 1 minute! I also did a ClearBlue+ Plus test on the same day, just to make sure, but that was negative! So I used the 2nd First Response test in the pack and that was a positive too!
Therefore the First Response test must be more sensitive at detecting hcg levels much earlier on than the ClearBlue test and gets my vote!
unclear results, will not buy again February 12, 2010 L.S. (florida) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have taken this test 9 days after ovulation, not expecting anything. To my amazement small part of the test line has changed color. I followed the instructions carefully. I did not know what to think of it, so called their support line. The
representative had no idea why that happened, but speculated I might have some HCG in my system. I got very excited, but the next day the same brand test went negative, with not a speck of color. Few days later I got my period. Was it a chemical pregnancy? Possibly. Maybe the test did detect it , but I will never know for sure because of unclear results.
My suggestion is: wait till you miss your period either way, even if you decide to use this product. Is not worth the heartache and aggravation, trust me. As for me, I will never buy this particular test again. The company refused to refund me the money. I felt its the least they could have done.
Amazing December 1, 2009 Nicole Holness What can I say it works as described. I am now 8 weeks pregnant, I started testing 5 days before my missed period and to my surprise there was a faint line which got brighter and brighter each day. It works.
Very Accurate November 19, 2009 NicoleJean 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my test of preferance because the result is non mistaking. When you are not pregnant or dont have enough Hcg yet to get a positive result you will not get a second line or any color at all. The area where the second line would be will be totally white. No shadow lines to make you squint or left feeling unsure of the result. If you see a second pink line even very faint than take it from me it is no doubt a positive. This test usually gives a faint positive line especially early on. But no doubt, if there is a second pink colored line no matter now faint or dark its positive. Also this test does not get evaporation lines at all. I had negative tests I kept for several weeks and even after that long they did not get evaporation lines or fade out at all. The result never changed in any way like how many tests do after only several hours. If you know these hints about this test than you can be very confident in the results. This is my test of choice and I have tried almost every brand.
It's alright. October 5, 2009 R.B. (mom of two girls) When we were trying for our first child, I took this test on a Monday, expecting my period 5 days later on Saturday, it was negative. I took it again on Friday and I had a very faint line, I didn't know what to think, had to have my husband look at it later just to make sure I wasn't crazy. After we decided we weren't seeing things and there really was a line, we didn't know if it meant positive or not. I didn't have any more tests right then, so the next morning I tested with a storebrand test and got a strong positive. I don't like how it gave me a faint line the day before I was supposed to have my period, it should have been a darker line. One thing I like is that +/- pregnancy tests tend to fade, while the First Response didn't. It has been over 3 years and you can still see the line. Bottom line, with our second child I used a storebrand test, because I didn't want to deal with faint lines or the higher prices. I now buy the very cheap tests, because if you are pregnant, it will work.
