The new 2007 Breath Alcohol Analyzer AlcoHAWK® Slim has been upgraded over the older models with Sensor Recognition Software to warn the user if certain type of damages occur to the sensor Electric Pressure Sensor: The AlcoHAWK® Slim Alcohol Screening device contains an electronic airflow sensor to ensure a deep lung sample is obtained. don't base any driving off of the reading, but for just getting a guesstimate this works just fine. Perfect for tailgates, poker nights, etc...

Like other reviewers have said, it takes a while for the thing to initialize but once you get it going, it works like a charm. The reading will fluctuate about +/-0.01 from my experience which is accurate enough. I know if my reading is 0.04 I'm probably well be low the legal limit in California of 0.08. If the reading shows 0.07, I'd hang out for a while before driving.
Its relatively small in size, about the size of a long cell phone so its easy to carry in your pocket. The thing comes with 3 disposable mouth pieces, so I suggest ordering replacements.
All in all, it does what its supposed to do. And for less than $25, I think its something you can't afford to *not* have.

Not worth the money. After 2 months doesn't work. Keeps saying "ER" on it. Have changed batteries and still doesn't work. Didn't come with the owners manuel like it should have. Waste of money.

sux 2 wait the 60 seconds but this machine has saved me 4x already from blowing a violation on my interlock device

This product worked well for about 2 weeks and hen stopped working properly. It's fun for a few uses but then requires recalibration which costs about $20.00 per calibration by the company. It would be much better if I didn't have to calibrate it every few weeks. Other than the recalibration issue I have no problem. It is, however, a major issue for me. If it lasted 6 months I'd be happy but 2 weeks is unacceptable for me.
